CS 591 E1/ IR 500 D1: Cyber Conflict and Internet Freedom

Timothy_EdgarComputer Science and International Relations are offering a new course in cyber conflict and privacy this Fall.

The cross-listed course examines the problems confronting the world in addressing network and computer insecurity while upholding privacy and civil liberties. While the U.S. has championed the “freedom-to-connect” as a human right, it has also established a new military command for cyberspace.

The course will be taught by Timothy H. Edgar, who served under President Obama as the first director of privacy and civil liberties for the White House National Security Staff, as the first deputy for civil liberties for the director of national intelligence from 2006-9, and as the national security and immigration counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union.

Enrollment for the course is full. Please email cs@bu.edu to be added to the waiting list.
