Myles Standish Hall and Annex, the oldest dormitory in BU’s inventory and the storied gateway to East Campus, will get a two-year, $130 million renovation, inside and out, beginning after Commencement in May.
Over the next few years, BU’s Charles River Campus will see some invigorating changes along the stretch of Commonwealth Avenue that houses the College of Fine Arts.
The Leventhal Center will receive a 2015 Preservation Achievement Award from the Boston Preservation Alliance in a ceremony tonight at the Cutler Majestic Theatre. The honor recognizes outstanding achievement in historic preservation and compatible new construction.
Among the daily parade of students and faculty crossing campus in the shadow of the BU School of Law tower are some who wonder why the building, widely considered one of the less attractive on campus, is being so meticulously refurbished.
