General Project Information

  • Warren Towers Dining Hall, Offices, Student Rooms, Parking Garage (Lot K), and Bike Storage Room are now closed for the summer.
  • Weekday shifts run from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (1st shift) and 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (2nd shift). Weekend shifts run from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (1st shift) and 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (2nd shift).
  • Work on the exterior, outside/adjacent to student rooms, will be performed from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Work at street level, inside the fenced construction area, and deliveries will begin at 7:00 a.m.
  • Entering the jobsite: Authorized personnel only and no trespassing. Anyone wishing to enter the site must sign in at the construction field office, observe and comply with all posted signage and personal protective equipment requirements.

  • Concrete and steel structural repair work continues.
  • The closed area will be adjusted this weekend; crews will reduce the closed area by relocating the barrier easterly.

Tower A

North, South, East and West Facades

  • Flashing tie-in work at exterior wall and podium roof intersections.

Upper Roof

  • Mechanical equipment commissioning.

Tower B

North, South, East and West Facades

  • Masons will continue with exterior brick veneer restoration work, selective demolition, installation of restoration anchors, air, water, and vapor barriers, new lintels, flashings, and relieving angles.
  • Steel stud framing and sheathing exterior window walls and openings.

Upper Roof

  • New parapet construction is ongoing.
  • Masonry restoration on elevator machine room headhouse.
  • Work on structural stub columns.
  • Concrete cutting and coring at fresh air duct risers.

Podium A Roof

  • Installation of new roofing and flashing systems.
  • Start-up, testing, and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.

Cummington Mall

  • Daily deliveries of construction materials and load-out of demolition debris dumpsters.
  • Two-car personnel and materials hoist way in operation for Tower B.
    • The elevator operators begin their safety checks and preventative maintenance on the hoist way daily at 6:00 a.m.

Cummington Mall West

  • Crews are cleaning, organizing, and preparing to open the road for the academic year.
  • Please watch for intermittent closures, BUPD detail officers, cones, and observe signage.

Hinsdale Mall

  • Daily deliveries of construction materials and load-out of demolition debris dumpsters.
  • Please watch for sidewalk closures, BUPD detail officers, cones, and observe signage.

Interior Work

Main Entrance Lobby

  • Escalator touch-ups, adjustments, and punch list work.
  • Patching, painting, and final cleaning is ongoing.

Tower A

  • Lounge furniture delivery and installation of the final remaining items.

  • Demolition is ongoing. Debris is loaded into hampers, transported, and emptied into dumpsters located in the construction loading dock.
  • Abatement is ongoing. Crews are working 2 shifts; debris is loaded into trailers located in the construction loading dock.
  • Floor slab coring, cutting, and grinding is ongoing.
  • Cutting of the concrete slab edge at every window opening is ongoing.
  • Installation of structural steel reinforcement and beam penetrations is ongoing.
  • Installation of fire protection sprinkler risers, mains, branch lines, and heads.
  • Rough HVAC piping and ductwork.
  • Rough plumbing.

Multipurpose Room

  • Turnover on Saturday, August 15.

Dining Hall

  • Construction is near completion, and punch list work is ongoing.
  • Food service stations and equipment installations.
  • Staff training and preparation for opening.
