Warren Towers Construction Update – 7/10/2026

General Project Information

Warren Towers Dining Hall, Offices, Student Rooms, Parking Garage (Lot K), and Bike Storage Room are now closed for the summer.
Weekday and weekend shifts run from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (1st shift), 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (2nd shift), and 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (3rd shift).
Entering the jobsite: Authorized personnel only and no trespassing. Anyone wishing to enter the site must sign in at the construction office, observe and comply with all posted signage and personnel protective equipment requirements.

Exterior Work

Tower A

Crews continue disassembling staging.
Work continues in the new Mechanical Penthouse and Emergency Electrical Room.
Mechanical equipment startup is underway.

Tower B

Electricians are installing temporary power and lighting.
Masonry continues restoration and selective demolition.
Exterior window abatement and demolition are ongoing.
Parapet and mechanical penthouse abatement demolition continues.
Masonry restoration on the elevator machine room head house.

Tower C

Metal tie-back hardware will be installed for swing staging.

Podium Roofs

Construction of new masonry parapets.
Demolition of existing roofing systems, mechanical equipment, penthouses, and skylights is in progress.
Installation of new mechanical equipment and penthouse continues.
Work on staging and support steel for Tower C continues.
Installation of new roofing systems is underway.
Heat pump, condenser, piping, and electrical installations continue.
Work on the acoustic roof screen and the new boiler room is ongoing.

Commonwealth Ave.

Curtainwall window replacement on level 4.

Cummington Mall
In and around the fenced area.

Installation of Tower C hoist way foundation and mini pile.

Pictured are the hoist pad mini piles of Tower C.

Two cranes will be set up separately in the street to support podium B roof activities and hoist the bridge beams off Tower A.
Daily deliveries of construction materials and loading out of demolition debris dumpsters.
Two-car personnel and materials hoist way remains in operation.
- (The elevator operators begin their safety checks and preventative maintenance on the hoist way daily at 6:00 AM)

Cummington Mall West

A crane will be set up in the street to support podium D roof activities and west terraces.
Please watch for sidewalk closures, BUPD detail officers, cones, and observe signage.

Hinsdale Mall

Underground utility work at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue begins this week and may impact pedestrian traffic.
A crane will be set up in the street to support podium A roof activities.
Please watch for sidewalk closures, BUPD detail officers, cones, and observe signage.

Interior Work

Main Entrance Lobby

Escalator replacement in progress.

Tower A

Interior final cleaning and air and water balancing are ongoing.
Punch list items and touchups are ongoing.
Work on punch list items and touchups continues.

Tower B

Crews are making safe exiting of MEP, F/P systems.
Demolition of the abatement is in progress.

Tower C

Corridor flooring abatement continues.
Installation of staging tieback hardware and covers continues.

Dining Hall

Installation of drywall and cement board continues.

Acoustical ceiling grid installation.
New rough plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire protection sprinkler systems.
Waterproofing and tile installation work is underway.
Food service stations and equipment installation continues.

The Dining Hall Renovation work is planned for 3 shifts, 7 Days a week until opening in the fall.

Parking Garage

Dining hall freight elevator modernization continues.
Electrical, plumbing, mechanical piping, and sprinkler installations are ongoing.
Construction of the MDF room continues.
Concrete and structural steel repairs in the parking garage are underway.
Masons are installing block walls in the new mechanical and electrical rooms.
