Warren Towers Construction Update – 4/17/26
General Project Information
- Weekday shifts run from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (1st shift), 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (1st shift for work outside/adjacent to student rooms), 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (2nd shift), and 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (3rd shift). Weekend shifts operate from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- The team is currently in the main renovation phase of the project.
- Entering the jobsite: Authorized personnel only and no trespassing. Anyone wishing to enter the site must sign in at the construction office, observe and comply with all posted signage and personnel protective equipment requirements.

During the Weekend of 4/18/26
Saturday & Sunday (1st and 2nd shift)
Exterior Work
Tower A
- Parapet abatement/demolition east and west of Tower A above the dining hall.
- installation of new door opening on the sidewalk at the fire pump room on the street level.
- Sealing and caulking of windows and metal trims.
- Disassembly of the hoist way access bridge.
Tower B
- Staging crews will continue assembling scaffolding on levels 5 through 18.
- Work on the acoustic roof screen assembly is ongoing.
Cummington Mall
(In and around the fenced area)
- Daily deliveries of tools, supplies, and materials will be received at the construction loading docks within the fenced area.
- Two-car personnel and materials hoist way remains in operation.
- (The elevator operators begin their safety checks and preventative maintenance on the hoistway daily at 6:00 AM)
- Tower B hoist way bridge construction is ongoing.
- Crane work lifting materials to the lower roofs.
Cummington Mall West
- BUPD detail officers and construction staff will be on-site to assist with pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
Hinsdale Mall
- Crews are installing scaffolding on the east end of the building.
- A crane will be set up in the street to load staging materials onto the lower podium roof, which will close the street down to through traffic. Warren Towers Garage (lot K) will remain open.
- Please watch for sidewalk closures, BUPD detail officers, cones, and observe posted signage.
Interior Work
Tower A
- Interior final cleaning is ongoing.
Dining Hall
- Crews will be working above ceiling making drain connections on 3rd shift, after hours.
Parking Garage
- Plumbers are installing new water and drain lines in the basement, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd levels.
- Please watch for adjusted parking patterns, cones, and observe signage.

Exterior Work
Tower A
- Sealing and caulking of metal trim panels and windows continues.
- Staging is being disassembled.
- Installation of new door opening on the sidewalk at the fire pump room on the street level.
- Disassembly of the hoist way access bridge.
- Continues constructing the mechanical penthouse and emergency electric room.
- Installation of metal panel roof screen.
Tower B
- Staging crews will be installing and assembling scaffolding around the building in preparation for the next phase.
- Masons are installing block veneer.
- Work continues constructing the new boiler room.
- Installation of new roofing system and parapets.
Cummington Mall
(In and around the fenced area)
- Daily deliveries of tools, supplies, and materials will continue.
- Crane work lifting materials to the lower roofs.
- Two-car personnel and materials hoist way remains in operation.
- (Elevator operators begin daily safety checks and preventative maintenance at 6:00 a.m.).
- Crews will continue assembling the temporary elevator hoist way, bridge, and loading dock for Tower B.
- This work impacts two entry and exit doors in 111 Cummington Mall, adjusted egress paths will be noted on site signage.
Cummington Mall West
- BUPD detail officers and construction staff will be on-site.
Hinsdale Mall
- Crews are installing scaffolding on the east end of the building.
- On Wednesday, April 22nd, a crane will be set up in the street to remove demolition debris from the east podium roof (This has no impact on the parking garage).
- Watch for sidewalk closures, BUPD detail officers, cones, and observe signage.
Interior Work
Tower A
- New window installation continues in the south rooms.
- Drywall installation and taping continue.
Dining Hall
- Crews will be working above ceiling making drain connections on 3rd shift during after hours.
Parking Garage
- Electricians will continue running wiring and conduits throughout the parking garage on levels 1 through 3.
- Work on the sprinklers continues.
- Please watch for adjusted parking patterns, BUPD detail officers, cones, and observe signage.
Future / Notable Tasks
- Dining hall renovation begins on 5/9.
- Escalator replacement starts on 5/19.
- Tower B demolition begins 5/18.
- Eversource to energize new electrical service.
- Furniture delivery and installation.
