Center for Computing & Data Sciences – Construction Update – 1/21/22

During the weekend of January 22nd

  • On Saturday, crews will continue buildout of elevators 4, 5, and 6 in the tower’s core with the focus being framing the front walls. Installation of mechanical, plumbing and fire protection rough will continue. Crews will be on site assembling and installing curtain wall panels. Installation of the monumental stair will continue.

During the week of January 24th

  • On the 7th and 8th, floors installation of curtain wall panels at the tower will continue. Delivery and assembly of the panels before installation will continue on the floors above.
  • In the subbasement, wall painting will continue.
  • On the lower level, crews from the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) subcontractors will continue installing their respective systems. Insulating and hanging drywall will continue.
  • On floors 2 through 5, wall framing, overhead MEP rough install, and hanging drywall will continue.
  • On floors 6 through 17 of the tower, the MEP subcontractors will continue installing electrical conduits, hangers, and piping. Wall framing and drywall hanging will occur in select areas.
  • Crews will begin applying a fireproof coating to the interior steel beams and columns for the podium’s roof framing, working from the 5th floor.
  • Installation of the atrium’s monumental stair will continue.
  • The elevator subcontractor will continue framing the elevator cabs and fronts for elevators 4, 5, and 6, located on the south side of the tower’s core.
  • Installation of the roofing system at the podium will continue as weather allows.
  • In the mechanical spaces on the 18th and 19th floors, crews will continue installing piping, conduit, and wires to the equipment set on the floors last week.
  • Within the alleyway, the site contractor will continue trenching and installing piping to connect the individual geothermal wells into a circuit before connecting to the building.
  • Trucking activity to and from the site will be occurring daily with trucks entering and exiting the designated gates.
