BU Theatre Center – Construction Activity – 2/3/17 – 2/17/17
For February 3, 2017 through February 17, 2017:
- Permitted by the Town of Brookline and in accordance with the approved Construction Management Plan, authorized work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Brookline and Boston Police details will continue to be posted at the two construction site entrance gates, one at Essex Street and one at Dummer Street, and the fence along Commonwealth Avenue to ensure public safety. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to posted signs, police, and safety personnel.
Key Construction Activities
- Erection of steel at the West Theater Building – Work to continue on steel columns, beams, and decking, as well as shear stud placement.
- Concrete Placement at Level B1 of the Parking Garage – Concrete will act as a surface on which the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection trades will work.
- Installation of Light Gauge Metal Wall Framing – Wall construction on the Production Building will occur in the next two weeks.
- Installation of Air and Vapor Barrier on Exterior Walls – Sunrise Erectors will install the specified materials to seal the exterior walls.
- Upcoming Saturday Work: February 3 through February 17– Work as required to keep the project on construction schedule.
- Now through February 17, 2017 – Steel erection should be more than 50% complete on the West Theatre Building.
