BU Theatre Center – Construction Activity – 6/20/16-7/10/16

Project Update for June 20, 2016 through July 10, 2016

General & Site Access

Site preparation and enabling construction activities will continue as permitted by the Town of Brookline and in accordance with the approved Construction Management Plan.
Authorized work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Parking and access to the site is closed to the public and University faculty and staff from May 16, 2016 through the end of the project – projected to be in August 2017.
The access ramp from Commonwealth Avenue will be available for scheduled University deliveries to the existing 808 Commonwealth Avenue building through June 22, 2016.
After June 22, 2016 the access ramp will be closed for demolition and all University deliveries to the 808 building will use the Essex Street loading area and freight elevator.

Key Construction Activities

Week of June 20 through June 27. The electrical and tel/data utilities work at corner of Essex and Dummer has been completed and this area will be paved to allow loading dock access for the 808 building. Utility relocations for the 808 building under the parking access ramp from Commonwealth Avenue will continue.
June 18, 2016 (Saturday) – Demolition of existing garage slab and under slab excavation will take place.
June 20, 2016 – Selective trees along Dummer Street to be removed for installation of temporary construction ramp into the site and to make way for utility installation.
June 20, 2016 through June 21, 2016 – New gas service cut over is scheduled for the 808 building to be complete within a 24 hour time frame.
June 21, 2016 through June 23, 2016 – New tel/data service cut over scheduled for the 808 building during the window of 12am to 6:30am.
Now through August 31, 2016 – Demolition, excavation, and trenching and all underground site utilities installation will be ongoing through the summer months.
