BU Students Celebrate International Greek Language Day
This year, February 9th was declared International Greek Language Day! The Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly made the decision. To celebrate this event, BU Modern Greek students learned in class about the national poet Dionysios Solomos, who wrote the Greek national anthem “ The Hymn to Liberty.” After their class, they went to the George Sherman Union to complete their mission: teach students the Greek alphabet, tell them about the importance of Greek language, and inform them about our Summer study in Greece!
