The Department congratulates Elizabeth Foster for winning admission to the “Centro,” or InterCollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome, Spring, 2018. While there, she will study the History and Civilization of Rome, Roman Topography and Archaeology, Advanced Latin, Intermediate Greek, and possibly Renaissance and Baroque Art History. The program was originally established by 10 universities in 1965, but has come to represent over 100 institutions, and selects 36 students each semester for the program. The administration is currently overseen by Duke University and is located on one of the main streets of the Janiculum.
