Prof. Nikolaev Talks ‘Game of Thrones’ And Invented Languages
BU Today spoke with Alexander Nikolaev, assistant professor of classical studies and of linguistics, on Game of Thrones, science fiction, and invented languages. Prof. Nikolaev is currently teaching his popular summer course on the origins of writing systems. He has led workshops on the fictional languages of Game of Thrones, Star Trek, and Lord of the Rings, and will be a junior research fellow at the Center for the Humanities for the 2017-2018 academic year.
