Bio:
Anne has over 25 years of experience in urban development through the practice of architecture, planning, real estate, government, innovation and community focused economic development. Having worked in small and large cities around the country, as well as in various economic markets, she is adept at adapting to various local conditions to be a lead implementer of initiatives, and develops keen local market knowledge very quickly.
Anne was most recently the CXO at Rally Austin, the Economic Development Corporation in Austin Texas focused on equitable real estate ventures supporting displaced communities, and prior to that served as the inaugural CEO of the Houston Land Bank in Houston Texas. She was formerly the Founding Director of Transformative Development at MassDevelopment, launching the TDI program in 2014, pushing forward the economic growth of Massachusetts’ Gateway Cities.
As an adjunct faculty member at Boston University’s MET College, she teaches the UA 756 and UA 757 Capstone courses which will be creating a vision plan for Maverick Square in East Boston for the City of Boston, through the BU MetroBridge program.
Her time as CEO of the Economic Development Corporation of New Haven saw her steering innovative partnerships between neighborhoods, City and Yale University. In NYC, Anne advised the Bloomberg Administration on high-profile projects like the World Trade Center and Penn Station redevelopment, and the Hunters Point South workforce housing project.
Before her public sector roles, she was an architect with Cesar Pelli & Associates and IM Pei & Partners. Anne also co-founded CitySeed, a farmers’ market and food policy non-profit, and was a catalyst for the MakeHaven makerspace.
Anne received her Master of Architecture degree at Yale University, and Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia and in 2013 received an MBA in the MIT Sloan Fellows Program in Innovation and Global Leadership focused on an inclusive innovation economy strategy in emerging markets. Anne was a Fulbright Scholar in Italy from 1995-96.
