Lecturer in Hindi, Coordinator of the Hindi Language Program

Shilpa Parnami is a foreign language educator and researcher. Prior to joining Boston University, Shilpa taught Hindi language and literature classes and worked with the Hindi Urdu Flagship Program at the University of Texas at Austin. Informed by sociocultural theories of learning and discourse analytic approaches, her classroom teaching focuses on enhancing learners’ ability to communicate in real life settings and to critically engage with diverse literary and cultural texts. Her research interests include using Internet-mediated Communication Technologies (ICTs) and multimedia resources to promote language development and intercultural dialogue.
