“The Role of Poetry and Art in Contemporary Brazilian politics” with Ricardo Aleixo and Maria Homem (Conversation with Students, In Portuguese)
BU will be hosting Brazilian poet and performer Ricardo Aleixo on campus from April 18th-21st. On Friday, April 21st, Aleixo and Brazilian author Maria Homem will host a conversation with students in Portuguese: “The Role of Poetry and Art in Contemporary Brazilian politics.” Ricardo Aleixo is currently considered one of the most important living artists in the country, integrating avant-garde poetry with Afro-Brazilian culture. Maria Homem is one of the most prominent psychoanalysts in Brazil. All events are free and open to the public.
