Nick Vargas

Executive Director, Wheelock Family Theatre

Nick Vargas (he/him/his) is a proud alum of Emerson College where he studied theatre education and directing, and is currently pursuing his MBA at Questrom School at Boston University. Nick previously served as the Casting Director and Artistic Associate at Imagination Stage, in Bethesda MD, one of the nation’s leading theatres for children and families. While at Imagination Stage, Nick worked closely on their Theatre for the Very Young (TVY) series, producing and directing immersive sensory experiences for children ages 0-5. He also directed & co-taught the Pegasus Ensemble, a 2-year conservatory-style training program for students ages 14 – 21 with cognitive and physical, and/or developmental disabilities.

Since joining WFT@BU in 2016, Nick has worked to streamline programming operations and increase the participation of young people in all areas of the organization. WFT@BU directing credits include The Wizard of Oz, Walking the Tightrope, Little Women, Ragtime, Stuart Little, Seussical (Boston Children’s Museum), A Year With Frog & Toad (Boston Children’s Museum) The Drowsy Chaperone, Nightfall with Edgar Allan Poe (Teen Ensemble).
