Congratulations to Tony Award winner Jason Alexander (CFA’81, Hon.’95) for making his Broadway directorial debut with The Cottage, by playwright Sandy Rustin. The Cottage begins performances on July 7 and opens on July 24 at the Hayes Theater in New York City for a limited engagement through October 29.

Seinfeld star Alexander will direct Emmy Award winner Eric McCormack (from Will & Grace), Tony Award nominee Laura Bell Bundy (from Legally Blonde), and Tony Award nominee Lilli Cooper (from Tootsie).

What’s The Cottage about?

Broadway’s brand-new, side-splitting farce is an outrageous tale of sex, betrayal, and desire as one woman decides to expose her latest affair to both her husband — and to her lover’s wife. The true meaning of fate and faith, identity and infidelity, love and marriage are all called into question as a surprising and hilarious web of secrets unravels in this ridiculously funny romantic comedy.

“To be a Broadway director doing a new and delicious comedy with a team and cast I adore is the definition of a dream come true. I am incredibly excited to bring this hysterical play to an audience that is ready to laugh and have a fantastic time,” says Alexander, who earlier this year also launched the iHeart podcast Really, No Really with longtime creative partner and talk radio host Peter Tilden.
