Ad Legend Frank Ginsberg (CFA’65) is the 2022 CFA Convocation Speaker

Boston University College of Fine Arts welcomes ad legend Frank Ginsberg (CFA’65) as the 2022 CFA Convocation Speaker. Ginsberg is the founder, chairman, and CEO of AFG& (formerly known as Avrett Free Ginsberg), a global full-service advertising agency based in New York City. His style and vision have helped build brands like Purina Cat Chow, U.S. Trust, Financial Times, Thomson Reuters, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Bacardi Rums, and Van Cleef & Arpels, among others.
Ginsberg discovered his passion for advertising in the late ’60s when a CFA classmate helped him land a job at Grey Advertising as an assistant art director on the Revlon account. In 1971, he joined experienced copywriters Jack Avrett and Marcella Free in launching a new firm, where he soon became a partner. Free eventually retired and Avrett passed away in 1997, leaving Ginsberg to run the agency alone.
Ginsberg oversees more than 100 employees working in the United States and Europe. “My job encompasses everything I love,” he says, “film, art, writing, editing, design, color, people, problem-solving, storytelling.”
Join us in welcoming Ginsberg back to his alma mater, BU, as the 2022 CFA Convocation Speaker!
