CFA Alums Uzo Aduba, Russell Hornsby & Alfre Woodard in Conversation
With BU Alumni Weekend looking a lot different than usual this year, the Terrier community pivoted to an exciting slate of virtual events for Alumni Weekend 2020 Reimagined. Kicking off the weekend was a conversation with three College of Fine Arts alums hosted by Dean Harvey Young.
Actors Uzo Aduba (CFA’05), Alfre Woodard (CFA’74, Hon.’04), and Russell Hornsby (CFA’96) met up via Zoom for a panel discussion titled Black in the Entertainment Industry: Reflections on Courage, Challenge & Creativity. The program was co-hosted by the Black Alumni Leadership Council and BU Alumni Association.
Dean Young facilitated a thoughtful and lively conversation with Aduba, Hornsby, and Woodard that traversed topics including the actors’ perspectives on the evolution of the entertainment industry, what it means to be an inspiration for generations of aspiring artists, and their memories of life on Comm Ave. as students.
