Alex Conway, Young Artists Orchestra Manager

Hi! I’m Alex Conway and I am excited to be returning to BUTI this summer as Young Artists Orchestra Manager and getting to know a new group of fine young musicians.  I’m originally from New York, NY but lived in Boston for about 10 years while working on graduate degrees at Boston University College of Fine Arts. I currently live and work in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada) and play flute with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. This summer I am happy to be coming “home” to many friends and colleagues on the BUTI faculty and staff as well as friends and mentors in the Boston Symphony Orchestra. You’ll find me on the lawn enjoying the beautiful music or in the mountains taking in the magnificence of the Berkshires.

Will Ellis, Young Artists Vocal Program Coordinator

Hey! My name is Will Ellis and I am the Coordinator for the Young Artists Vocal Program. From Middletown, OH, I just graduated from Miami University in Ohio with a Major in Vocal Music Education and a Minor in Music Theatre. I love performing as well as cooking, movies, crafting, and coffee. Very excited to meet all of you and to spend my summer in Lenox!

Tosha Knibb, Junior Strings Intensive Head Counselor

Hey, hey! My name is Tosha Knibb, the K- is silent. I will be working as the Junior Strings Intensive Head Counselor at BUTI. I currently reside in Pembroke Pines, Florida, which is a 36-hour train ride from here! I am the orchestra and chorus director at Sawgrass Springs Middle School and love every minute of my position! When I’m not working I enjoy painting, lifting weights, and watching the Hallmark channel. This is my first time here at BUTI and I am looking forward to a great summer, meeting new people, and listening to some wonderful music!

Dan Lorenz, Head Resident Assistant

My name is Dan Lorenz and I am one of the Head Resident Assistants at BUTI! This will be my 3rd season here in Lenox supporting the incredible staff, faculty, and students on campus. I am eagerly looking forward to meeting all of the fantastic musicians, playing, and learning this summer, as well as spending time in town, at Tanglewood, and all across the Berkshires!

Andrew Milne, Student Housing Manager

Hi everyone! My name is Andrew Milne and I am the Student Housing Manager this summer at BUTI. I’m originally from Westborough, MA and just finished my master’s degree at The Hartt School. In the fall I’ll be teaching at The Bromfield School in Harvard, MA. I am looking forward to meeting you all, playing games and music with you around the grounds, and of course all of the wonderful concerts!

Olivia Porada, Program Manager

Hi! My name is Olivia Porada and I am the Program Manager at BUTI. Originally from NJ, I now live in Boston and outside of my love of fitness and singing, I spend my time planning and scheduling all of the summer curriculum and extracurricular activities for BUTI. I am most excited for summer days and nights on the Tanglewood lawn listening to BUTI and BSO performances, and of course, meeting everyone!

Janna Schwartz, Director of Development

I’m Janna Schwartz, the Director of Development for BUTI. My job is to spread the word about the incredibly talented teaching, learning, performing, and growing that occurs at BUTI—and to garner resources to support this magical program. Once upon a time, I was a pretty good clarinetist and actor.  I loved coming to Tanglewood as a kid and enjoying all the Berkshires has to offer. Now I spend my time outside of work as a ‘dance mom’ for my two daughters, and an active participant in our local synagogue (where my husband plays the harmonica). We all enjoy hanging out with our new puppy, Pershie, and taking jogs by the nearby  beaches in Swampscott, MA.

Nicole Wendl, Director of Operations and Residential Life

Hey there, I’m Nicole Wendl and I’m the Director of Operations and Residential Life! I’m a violinist, Floridian, cat mom, and sports lover, and I spend most of my time at BUTI making sure life outside of the classroom is as enjoyable as possible for faculty, staff, and students. I’m looking forward to the magic of summer music and a couple games of soccer here and there!

Nataly Wickham, Community Engagement Manager

Hi there! My name is Nataly Wickham and I am the Community Engagement Manager at BUTI. Originally hailing from the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I now call Boston home with my boyfriend Frank and our sweet pup Lily. I am extremely passionate about Community Engagement and love forging meaningful connections through music! During the school year, I am the Community Performances and Partnerships Program Manager at New England Conservatory and am excited to continue this work during the summer at BUTI. Growing up in the forests near Mt. Rainier, I am excited to spend the summer amongst music and nature. Can’t wait to get started and collaborate this summer!
