Video Producer
BU College of Fine Arts Video Producer Michael Rotiroti has experience creating long-form documentary films highlighting injustice and telling the stories of those normally unheard. With projects airing on Netflix, HBO, The Discovery Channel, MTV Films and ESPN, Michael’s work has been side by side with the nation’s best producers. Most notably, he worked on HBO’s Murder in Boston, as the Director of Photography. He also assisted on a few Union productions like Netflix’s Don’t Look Up and Disney’s American Horror Story. In more recent years, Michael has worked as a Senior Video Editor at Above Summit, filming and editing a plethora of various projects and working on live productions. In 2023 Michael started at the CFA as a video Producer before being promoted to the CFA Video Production Manager in 2023.
Awards
In 2024, Murder in Boston was nominated in 3 different Emmy awards, including best documentary. The project Won the Emmy for outstanding crime and justice documentary category. Michael was also nominated for 2 Regional Emmys for projects that he executively produced. In 2023 Michael was Nominated for four New England regnal Emmys for a verity of projects that he worked on. In 2021, Michael won the Robert F Kennedy Human Rights Award For Journalism for MTV Film’s 16 and Recovering.
