Project Specialist and Preparator (Paint Shop)

Lori Hruska, project specialist and preparator (paint shop) at Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Theatre, has been a scenic artist for 30 years. She lives outside of Boston with her husband and two daughters. She loves painting scenery! After collaborating with designers and other crew members it is always a great reward to sit in the audience and watch a play or movie that she has worked on. After going to Cobalt Studios to learn scene painting from 2 highly acclaimed teachers she moved to NYC and started working for off-broadway theaters, window displays, murals, and all sorts of other artist projects. Art has taken her to many different cities to live and work such as, Dallas, New Orleans, and Connecticut. After moving to Boston she joined the IATSE Painters Union where she has been painting for such films as Ghostbusters, TED, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, The Holdovers, and many more films. This is her 17th year in the Union.
