Production Manager

Johnny Kontogiannis is the Production Manager for the BU College of Fine Arts School of Theatre. In this position, he works closely with the faculty to support all productions in the school, ensuring they meet the artistic and educational goals of the program. He also manages the day-to-day operations of the Joan and Edgar Booth Theatre and CFA Production Center, as well as all other production spaces in the School. He also teaches classes in the MFA Production Management Program. During his time at BU, Johnny has also helped support the design and construction of the Booth Theatre by working as the main liaison between the School and the construction team, as well as managed the move of the Design and Production Program from the former Boston University Theatre on Huntington Avenue to its current home.

Johnny earned his BFA in Technical Production from Boston University. Prior to coming to Boston University, he worked as a Production Manager for Tech Production Services, a Broadway Production Management Company, where he managed Broadway and First National Tours. He also worked as a stagehand on Broadway, before becoming an instructor and Scene Shop Supervisor at Ithaca College.
