
Brandi Main
Manager of Graduate Student Services
Brandi Main joined the BU College of Fine Arts in 2024 as the Manager of Graduate Student Services, and she is delighted to be a Terrier F1RSTS Advocate through the Newbury Center here at BU. Before starting her position in CFA, she began her journey in higher education in 2021 when joining the staff at BU as the Administrative Coordinator for the Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts & Sciences.
As a native of the Pacific Northwest, Brandi previously served as the Production Manager and a performing violinist in the Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival in Washington where she discovered her passion for production and event management. She has experience working in a production capacity for local Boston area organizations such as Boston Landmarks Orchestra, Handel & Haydn Society, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, among others.
In addition to teaching private violin and piano lessons through a variety of schools from coast to coast, Brandi has extensive experience mentoring and coaching students in ensemble settings for organizations such as the Detroit Symphony Youth Orchestra in Michigan, and Tacoma Youth Symphony and Tacoma Young Chamber Players in Washington. With a love for chamber music, she previously participated in the Icicle Creek Chamber Music Festival in Washington and earned distinction as a Festival Scholar at the Heartland Chamber Music Festival in Missouri where she performed live on Kansas Public Radio (KPR).
Brandi received a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Bowling Green State University where she held the position of graduate assistant in the Graduate String Quartet, and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Puget Sound. In a transformative experience in Vienna, Austria, Brandi was a student and performer at the Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) Vienna Music Program.
Brandi enjoys performing violin in the New England Film Orchestra and in other regional orchestra and chamber music settings, teaching violin and piano in her own private studio, drawing, painting, and traveling.
