Dr. Robin Ingalls is a physician-scientist with clinical training in Infectious Disease. Her research examines a number of issues broadly related to the fields of immunology and infectious diseases, including bacterial pathogenesis and innate immunity, sexually transmitted infections and mucosal immunity, and women’s reproductive health. She is also the Medical Director of the Special pathogens Unit, leading a team of dedicated nursing and physician staff to prepare for the unexpected, a person presenting with an infection requiring care in biocontainment. Administrative duties include chairing the Institutional Biosafety Committee. Finally, she is committed to training the next generation of physicians and scientists, mentoring both clinical and basic research trainees. Dr. Ingalls brings her expertise in infectious disease clinical care, immunology, and biosafety/biosecurity to her work at CEID.
