Lara Salahi is an award-winning health journalist and journalism educator. Her book, Outbreak Culture, examines factors that complicate responses to infectious disease outbreaks. Her work primarily focuses on health communication, news literacy, media framing, and social and societal impact in outbreak response. Her work has appeared on numerous outlets including ABC News, CNN, the Boston Globe, Medpage Today, and USA Today. Professor Salahi is working on the impact of media and public health communications on outbreak response.
