Jennifer Weuve, MPH, ScD

Co-Director: Epidemiology Response Corps
Associate Professor, Epidemiology, Boston University School of Public Health

In her research, Dr. Weuve seeks to identify causes of cognitive decline and dementia, particularly environmental causes. Undergirding this research is her dedication to aligning epidemiologic methods to solving public health problems. During the COVID-19 pandemic and with Dr. Ellie Murray, she co-founded the BUSPH Epidemiology COVID-19 Response Corps, which engages with students, faculty, and other BU community members to address important epidemiologic issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including research, communication, policy, and best practices. Dr. Weuve has been evaluating the burden of COVID-19 and the societal response to it on the health of persons with dementia. With the CEID, Dr. Weuve brings the lenses and tools of public health and causal inference to researching and translating questions about the interfaces of infectious diseases, environmental health and chronic disease.
