Dr. Jai Marathe is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Infectious Diseases, Boston University School of Medicine and is a graduate from the Infectious Diseases fellowship program at Boston Medical Center. She is the Associate Director of Boston Medical Center’s Special Pathogens Unit. Her research spans HIV transmission across reproductive mucosa and the potential for topical use of various plant-derived antibodies (plantibodies) in prevention of HIV infection. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she has worked to provide outpatient support, telemedicine followup and infusion of anti Covid-19 monoclonal antibodies to patients diagnosed with Covid-19 disease. Dr. Marathe brings her immense experience in evaluating clinical care standards to her work with CEID. As the Medical Director for Boston Medical Center’s Center for Infectious Disease, Dr. Marathe’s current research and clinical interest lies at the intersection of clinical care for long COVID patients, clinical outcomes and the pathophysiology of PASC/Long COVID.
