Isaac Gíkandi is a medical doctor with a Master of Medical Science in Global Health from Karolinska Institutet. He monitors epidemiologic signals across the African region, verifies outbreaks and provides guidance to inform vaccination and screening for resettling populations. His work integrates epidemiology, operational coordination, and policy translation to protect mobile and refugee populations.
He has led and supported outbreak response and pre-migration health activities across multiple African countries, with extensive experience in refugee camp settings, border health, and emergency preparedness, including COVID-19 response. He brings a strong blend of clinical insight, epidemiologic rigor, and practical field experience to complex global health challenges.
