In addition to his role at Boston University, Dr. Stringhini also codirects Boston University’s Security Lab. His research includes applying a data-driven approach to better understand malicious activity on the internet, and through the collection and analysis of large-scale datasets, he develops novel and robust mitigation techniques to make the internet a safer place. His research involves a mix of quantitative analysis, (some) qualitative analysis, machine learning, crime science, and systems design. Dr. Stringhini’s work at CEID focuses on the role of disinformation and misinformation during outbreaks and other public health emergencies.
