Dr. Birgitte Simen leads the technical teams as the Vice President, Technical Platforms for Ginkgo Biosecurity, a biosurveillance company located in Boston with the mission to protect the globe from both naturally occurring and engineered threats. Her teams focus on developing and implementing technologies to mitigate emerging pathogens, spanning hardware, molecular and artificial intelligence solutions. Prior to joining Ginkgo Biosecurity, Dr. Simen led various teams at Veritas Genetics and Roche Diagnostics/454 Life Sciences. Dr. Simen earned her PhD in Cell Physiology from the University of Chicago.
