Angela Huang, MD, MPH

Angela Song-En Huang has been a medical officer with the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC) since 2007, following training with the U.S. CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service. She was completing her internal medicine residency when the 2003 SARS outbreak occurred. Treating SARS patients and responding to the outbreak sparked her interest in emerging infectious diseases. Over the years, Dr. Huang has been involved in various outbreak responses and worked closely with divisions focused on surveillance, planning, and policy development. She has also been working with the Taiwan Field Epidemiology Training Program, contributing to curriculum development, mentoring trainees in applied epidemiology, and currently serves as the program’s director.
