Dr. Stokes’ program of research focuses on the role of mortality surveillance systems in improving pandemic preparedness and response measures in the US and globally. His current work includes small-area estimation of excess mortality across local communities in the US and global work focused on harnessing novel data sources to improve mortality and cause-of-death estimation.
