CEID Faculty Dr. Cassandra Pierre weighs in on COVID booster shots for the immunocompromised:
“Dr. Cassandra Pierre, an infectious disease physician who is the associate hospital epidemiologist at Boston Medical Center, said it was ‘very important to give people that fourth dose. We really want to do everything we can to stimulate immunity and antibody production.’ She said that studies cited by the CDC suggested that for the immunocompromised, ‘it may be that the fourth dose is actually necessary to complete your immunity, not even to revive it.’”
