CAS class examines role of surfing culture
When you think about American Studies, the topic of surfing isn’t usually the first that pops into your mind. But for graduate student Samuel Palfreyman (GRS’19), it is quite the opposite. In his course Life’s a Beach: The Beach Boys, Surfing, and the Influential 1960s Southern California Subculture, he examines the broad impact that surfing has had on American culture.
