BU Sustainability and The Wellbeing Project are holding an event in honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. Please join the BU community for Boston University Online Earth Day 2020 on April 21, a day before the official Earth Day.

  • Date: Tuesday, April 21, 2020
  • Time: 4:00–6:30 p.m.
From 4:00–5:30 p.m.: Learning from COVID-19: What does it mean for Sustainability, Climate Change, and Resilience?
An online panel discussion on the short-term and long-term effects of COVID-19 on climate and the environment, with Professor of Earth and Environment Sucharita Gopal, Professor Jonathan I. Levy from the School of Public Health, and BU Sustainability’s Dennis Carlberg. They will start with an overview of Boston University’s progress toward its sustainability goals, then dive into a moderated discussion about what the “new normal” means for our climate and sustainability work — both at BU and broadly as a society.
From 5:40–6:30 p.m.: Caring for Yourself, Others, and Our Planet: A Student Panel for Earth Day’s 50th
An online panel where BU students will share stories about their relationship to nature, their communities, and our environment, and how this interacts with their personal wellbeing. Following these stories, we will have a conversation about the connections between wellbeing and the environment.
