Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science Presents: Know your Audience Online Workshop
The Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science would like to invite you to an interactive 90 minute online workshop, focusing on knowing your audience.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
How many of us fall into the trap of using the same talk no matter who the audience and expect it to stick? For example, giving the same talk about ‘Antibacterial Resistance’ to doctors as you would to a class of 11-year-olds. Would the message stick? The answer is no! What would work then? Where does one even begin?
This online workshop is designed to help scientists know and connect with different types of audiences from general public, peers and professors to potential employers, policy makers, or family members. There is no one audience when it comes to science communication. The key tenet to effective science communication is getting to know who these different groups of audiences are, how to connect with them and shape your message.
SESSION OBJECTIVES:
Understand the importance of knowing about your audience for effective communication
Increase empathy for your audience – understand how they view you, and you view them
Space for this online workshop is limited. Please apply below by
Friday, September 21st and our team will get back to you.
