Patriots Day weekend is one of the most highly anticipated few days on the Boston calendar. The main event is undoubtedly on Marathon Monday, but you also don’t want to miss out on a Michael Jackson–inspired music performance, free admission to the MFA’s Hallyu! The Korean Wave exhibition, or an annual LGBTQ+ film festival.
Hallyu! The Korean Wave
The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, is hosting a College Night in honor of its special exhibition Hallyu! The Korean Wave, which celebrates the country’s contributions to art and pop culture. The event runs from 6 to 9 pm, and tickets are free to university students with an ID, on a first-come, first-served basis. Events include a bracelet-making workshop, dance performances, discussions, swag giveaways, free food, and more.

The Michael Jackson Ensemble: Human Nature
Calling all smooth criminals, Berklee Performance Center wants to rock with you on Friday and Saturday with its two-night tribute to the king of pop. Led by Grammy-nominated saxophonist Tia Fuller, close to 80 students and faculty from Berklee College of Music will be performing in honor of MJ’s impact on pop music and the world. The man in the mirror himself is telling you to go, so make sure you moonwalk on over—it’s supposed to be a real thriller.

Wicked Queer: Boston’s LGBTQ+ Film Festival
This weekend, the 40th annual Boston LGBTQ+ Film Festival screens in theaters in and around the city, from the Museum of Fine Arts to the Brattle Theatre to the Paramount Center. From Thursday through Sunday, 20 films will be screened, including Close to You, featuring Elliot Page, and Queen Tut, about a teenager moving from Cairo to Toronto.

BU Does the Marathon: 2024
Come join fellow Terriers on the corner of Beacon Street and Park Drive as they cheer on runners in the final one and a half miles of the 128th Boston Marathon. While you’re at it, grab some free snacks and free swag, and enjoy the spring sunshine.

Boston Red Sox vs. Cleveland Guardians Game
The Red Sox annual Marathon Monday game is one of the best traditions in Major League Baseball, with its rare 11:10 am first pitch and players’ blue-and-yellow, marathon-themed jerseys. The Red Sox are 7-4 on the year and exceeding early expectations, so stop by for some long-awaited Fenway Park action.
