Video: Boba Showdown, Round Two
Our Terrier milk tea experts are back, rating four more local shops in a blind taste test
Boba Showdown, Round Two
Boba Showdown, Round Two
Last spring, we invited two self-professed boba tea connoisseurs—Sharlene Chang (SHA’24) and Irene Kim (COM’23)—to take a blind taste test of samples from five local shops and rate them from one to five.
Kim publishes a food blog on TikTok that has nearly half a million followers and 16 million likes. Chang is from Taiwan, the birthplace of boba tea. In their first round, they were less than impressed with what they sampled.
Still in search of the perfect boba tea, we asked the duo to take another blind taste test, this time of teas from four different local establishments. In the video above, the two Terriers sample each of them and offer their signature candid—and occasionally withering—assessments of the drinks. They rated each based on taste and consistency. Will any of round two’s taste tests earn a perfect 5 out of 5 rating? Watch to find out.
