What to Watch
The 47th Daytime Emmy Awards will air on CBS this Friday, June 26, at 8 pm EST, honoring the best in daytime television from 2019. Originally scheduled for June 12 to 14 in Pasadena, Calif., the ceremony will be held virtually this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Days of Our Lives looks to capture its 4th award for Outstanding Drama Series out of 8 consecutive nominations, while Ellen DeGeneres seeks her 32nd Daytime Emmy since 2004. The 2020 edition of the awards show will be the first to air on live television (as opposed to streaming) since 2015, and the first on a broadcast network since 2011.
What to Listen To
Legendary musician, and Nobel Prize winner, Bob Dylan released Rough and Rowdy Ways last week, his first album with original music since 2012. The double-album record includes a nine-track first disc and a second disc comprising a 17-minute song titled “Murder Most Foul.” The album has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, including a 95/100 rating from Metacritic. Rough and Rowdy Ways can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other streaming platforms.
How to Stay Active
After months of social distancing, the “quarantine 15” can be very real. This weekend, check out the Nike Training Club app, which offers a plethora of workouts that can be done anywhere, with or without equipment. Choose from yoga, an ab or core burner, lifting weights, and more. With gyms shuttered because of coronavirus, Nike has indefinitely removed the paywall from its premium content, making all workouts and programs from Nike’s master trainers free to all. Available for iOS and Android, the app can also pair with your smartphone or smartwatch for more accurate health data.
How to Get Artsy
Are you sick of Netflix and looking for a new quarantine hobby? Try this paint by numbers, available on Amazon for $18.59. The 16-by-20-inch canvas oil painting will test your patience and steadiness, but it’s ideal for killing time, decompressing, and getting artsy. The set includes a preprinted canvas, a set of 28 colors of acrylic paint, and three different size paint brushes. The project is guaranteed to occupy you for hours, and the end result won’t disappoint.
What to Eat
Summer is officially upon us, and that means it’s time for fun summery recipes. Does anything scream summer more than some juicy watermelon? Turn the popular BBQ mainstay into a meal of its own with this super-easy watermelon feta salad recipe. You can thank us later.
