In our new series “Terriers In Charge,” we highlight some of BU’s remarkable student leaders. Today, we feature Elizabeth Slade (ENG’20), cofounder and director of the BU chapter of Hack4Impact, a nonprofit that began at UPenn and works with other nonprofits and socially responsible organizations to develop software that addresses important social and humanitarian issues.
BUHack4Impact is currently working on two big social impact projects, one that helps people in prison remain in touch with family members and another that works with agricultural grassroots organizations in India. Slade says that “starting Hack4Impact has been my favorite part of college.” As director of the BU chapter, she helps club members use their engineering skills to build a better society.
