With the most consequential presidential election in recent history nearly upon us, voters are experiencing a bewildering range of emotions: uncertainty, exhaustion, hope, anxiety. With so much at stake—global warming, social and racial inequity, the handling of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the economy, and foreign policy—we wanted to find out what issues students are most concerned about.
And in a year shaped by a global pandemic, where the “how” of voting has become as salient a topic of discussion as the political, racial, and societal issues influencing those votes, we asked students to share how they’re casting their ballot this year—by mail, early voting in person, or waiting until election day on November 3 to head to the polls.
