To get your fill of cider donuts this fall, “apparate” over to Harvard Square for a Harry Potter–themed donut pop-up. All wizards and muggles welcome.

Harry Potter Donut Pop-Up in Harvard Square

Nothing says autumn in New England better than cider and donuts. This Saturday, hop on the Hogwarts Express (in this case, the T), and head over to Harvard Square for a Harry Potter–themed donut pop-up at Harvest restaurant. The event will feature five wizard-inspired donut flavors: Hogwarts House Doughnuts, Butterbeer, Golden Snitch, Pumpkin Pasty, and Apple Cider. The pop-up will be on Harvest’s patio, and specials will also be available in the restaurant during brunch hours. Donuts are $3 each or $15 per half dozen, from 9¾ (9:45) am until 2 pm, or until they’re gone. We’d bet on the latter, so don’t wait around. And remember, it’s the Head of the Charles Regatta this weekend, so expect Harvard Square to be mobbed.

The Harry Potter Donut Pop-Up is Saturday, October 20, from 9:45 am until 2 pm, or while supplies last, on the patio at Harvest, 44 Brattle St., Cambridge. Take an MBTA Red Line train to Harvard Square.

New Balance Factory Store Brighton

Whether you’re in the market for a new pair of kicks or you simply love the thrill of sifting through a clearance rack for a great bargain, check out the New Balance Factory Store in Brighton. Inside this 26,000-square-foot gymnasium-inspired warehouse, you’ll find footwear, athletic apparel, and accessories, plus a retail space for New Balance’s Warrior brand, which includes lacrosse and hockey gear. The store has great prices.

New Balance Factory Store Brighton, 173 Market St., Boston, is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 8 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. Take an MBTA 57 Watertown Yard bus to Cambridge Street at Saunders Street, then walk about 10 minutes to the store.

CFA Presents: Beowulf: A Thousand Years of Baggage

This weekend, the College of Fine Arts School of Theatre presents a musical adaptation of Beowulf. This modern retelling is a mash-up of Old English epic and jazzy art-rock. “Mixing reverence, provocation, and satire, this award-winning, critically acclaimed extravaganza posits the notion of Hero versus Monster and defends this most dreaded Old English document through rowdy debate,” reads the event site. Admission is free. Performances are Thursday through Sunday in CFA’s Studio 102.

Beowulf: A Thousand Years of Baggage will be performed Thursday, October 18, at 8 pm, Friday, October 19, at 10 pm, Saturday, October 20, at 2 pm, and Sunday, October 21, at 11 am in CFA Studio 102, 855 Commonwealth Ave., Boston. Museum of Fine Arts Late Nites

Calling all art lovers. This Friday, the world-renowned Museum of Fine Arts Boston is keeping its doors open until 2 am as part of the ongoing Late Nites series. The event features music, food, and of course, lots of art. The lineup includes tours of six art galleries, café and street food for sale, a beer garden for those 21+, six live musical performances, and a trio of engaging activities and discussions. From an exhibition on propaganda during the World War I and World War II eras to an interactive performance by Toronto-based music group Choir! Choir! Choir! the evening has something for everyone. Tickets are required (see prices below).

MFA Late Nights is Friday, October 19, at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, 465 Huntington Ave., Boston, from 8 pm to 2 am. Tickets are required, and advance admission is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Tickets will be sold at the door for $20. 2018 Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo

Since 2010, the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo has celebrated the creativity and talents of comics, artists, and writers from the Boston area. With an emphasis on craft rather than commerce, the 2018 expo will showcase works by more than 200 individuals. The two-day event includes workshops and demonstrations by professional artists, panel discussions and presentations on various comics-related topics, and numerous exhibits. Produced by the Boston Comic Arts Foundation and hosted by the Lesley University College of Art and Design, the expo, this Saturday, October 20, and Sunday, October 21, is free and open to the public.

The 2018 Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo is at University Hall at Lesley University, 1815 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, Saturday, October 20, from 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday, October 21, from 11 am to 5 pm. Take an MBTA Red Line train to Porter Square.
