  1. Thank you for this article (my grandfather was a coal miner in Wales and then a union organizer in Harlan County in the 1920s). Excellent analysis, and your explanation regarding why throw-away lines objectifying and disparaging coal miners are divisive and play right into Trump’s hands was right on target.

  2. Thank you for sharing your insights. This is spot-on in terms of Trump’s vile and self-serving strategies and his utter lack of concern for anyone’s well being except his own and that of his immediate family. There are absolutely no redeeming characteristics of Trump or his presidency, from the ridiculous and ill-suited appointees and members of his advisory cabinet, to the one-off executive orders he signs which do nothing, absolutely nothing to advance this country or its people.
