    1. Hi Shriya,
I asked Housing, and they said a taxi is the best and easiest way to travel from the airport to campus with suitcases in tow. Thanks!

      1. Does Uber pick up at Logan airport now? They weren’t able to previously. Uber is a great option going back to Logan, though, at about half the cost of a taxi.

    1. Unfortunately, vehicles may not be parked overnight in the Babcock Street garage, however vehicles may park in the 808 Commonwealth Street Lot if there is a need for overnight parking during move-in.

    1. There are 10 meters in front of Myles Standish Hall which have been made available for move-in. Those moving in are encouraged to unload and move their vehicles to one of the University lots thereafter.

    1. There will be 10 meter made available at no charge in front of Danielson Hall for those needing to move in. Those moving are encouraged to unload and proceed with your vehicles to one of the University lots thereafter.

      1. Hi Jennifer, I asked and Housing says “Yes continuing students can check-in beginning Wednesday August 27, the first day of early move-in. However this is a very busy day given students arriving for Orientation Session 8.”

  1. So if you are moving into Rich, do you park your car in the Babcock Street garage first? Go get your keys etc. Then unload your car in the garage? Or is there somewhere to pull up and unload first and then you park in the garage?

    1. Good question Adrienne. You should park your car first, check-in at Rich Hall, get a moving cart and then move your belongings. There will be BU Police and Parking Services staff on Babcock Street to direct you to the right places.

  2. Is the Babcock garage high enough to accommodate an suv with a carrier on top of the car? Or is there another recommended place for taller vehicles?

    1. Hi Cailyn, there is space either on Babcock Street or in the Babcock lot for oversized vehicles. The Police and Parking staff will direct cars during move in, too.

  3. If I’m moving in to a south campus brownstone, can I park my car (for a short amount of time) in the parking spots behind my brownstone while unpacking?

  4. If I were to take a taxi from the airport and I’m trying to get to Bay State Road, I would able to get there right, since I’m a student moving in? Just making sure, since Bay State will be closed when I move in.

    1. Hi Amy,
I asked and unfortunately no guests–even if they’re family members–are allowed to stay overnight until 2 weeks into the semester.

  5. How do meals work during the move-in period? My family is helping me move-in and unpack and I was wondering, could I use my 10 guest meals, or can they pay some other way to eat in the on-campus dining halls?

    1. The first residence dining meal is breakfast on Saturday. Your family is invited be BU’s guests over the opening weekend when accompanied by you at any of the three Fresh Food Company dining rooms.

      1. Happy to hear that my wife & I will be able to eat at the BU this weekend. Does my daughter need to be on a meal plan in order for all of us to eat at the dining hall?

        1. Hi Alan,
I sent your note to the director of housing who said “BU will be more than happy to provide you with a meal as long as your daughter lives on campus with or without a full dining plan.” Happy eating!

    1. From Parking: There are 10 meters being reserved in front of 140 Bay State Road. These would be close enough to use the carts provided for moving-in. Once a vehicle is unpacked, the car should move from the meters to one of the University lots.

  6. Thank you for carefully planning for this big move-in!
How do you access Warren Towers’ garage? We will be coming from Soldiers Field Rd…
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Hi Patricia,
The address is 700 Comm Ave., and here’s a link to the exact location: http://www.bu.edu/maps/?id=873. It may be easiest to click on “directions to here” and plug in your starting address. Again, there will be police and parking attendants in the area if you need help on moving day.

  7. What should I do if I’m supposed to move in today (to Towers) but my new flight doesn’t arrive until 4:45, after check-in is over? Should I just sleep in the lounge and check in tomorrow?

    1. When you arrive on campus go directly to the Towers and contact the Resident Assistant on duty. The telephone number for the RA on duty will be posted in the lobby.

  8. Is there an order to what day a new freshman can move into the dorms? Last name starting with A-M on Saturday and N-Z on Sunday? I am getting conflicting info from the ENG school and want to make sure that it is wide open to come anytime on Sat or Sun.

    1. Entering freshmen can move in today, tomorrow, or Sunday. But they are urged to arrive no later than noon on Sunday so that they can take part in Matriculation which begins at 2 p.m. at Agganis Arena.

    1. Hi Angelina,

Good question. No you do not need a BUID (Terrier) Card to enter the Warren Towers garage. You will need your Terrier Card to enter the residence portion of Warren Towers once you have moved-in.

      All the best,

      Marc Robillard
      Executive Director, Auxiliary Services

  9. Where can we get the yellow carts that are used to unload stuff so they can be brought up to the dorms? Also, should we check in first and get our room key before unloading? Thanks!
