YouSpeak: Harlem Shake
Here today, gone tomorrow?
What began as a single video last month on YouTube featuring four Spandex-clad dancers rocking to Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” has exploded into the latest meme phenomenon. The original video has been viewed about 16 million times. At one point this month, more than 4,000 “Harlem Shake” videos a day were being uploaded to YouTube—there are now more than 12,000 versions on the site.
And yes, BU, like college campuses across the country, has gotten in on the act.
This week’s “YouSpeak” asks: “What do you think of the “Harlem Shake?”
“YouSpeak” typically appears each Monday.
