Seeing Brad Pitt on the Cheap

Students can buy discounted movie tickets at the GSU

Drew Barrymore (from left), Ellen Page, and Kristen Wiig star in the film Whip It. See it, and other two-week-old movies, for $6.50 with a BU ID.

Paying $10 for a movie ticket is enough to keep any college student away from the theater. Is two hours of Brad Pitt on the battlefield worth forking over a Hamilton? Debatable.

Students deserve theater therapy without breaking the bank. The GSU Information Desk on the second floor is handing out discounted theater tickets for movies that have been out for at least two weeks. For $6.50, you can see the films you thought you couldn’t afford.

Here are some of the movies that have been out for two weeks: Capitalism: A Love Story, The Invention of Lying, Paranormal Activity, Whip It, Zombieland, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

Flicks you might want to keep an eye on: Couples Retreat, discount starting October 23, and Law Abiding Citizen, The Stepfather, and Where the Wild Things Are, discounts starting October 30.

The discounted tickets are for the Fenway Regal Cinema, 401 Park Dr.; call the GSU at 617-353-5498 to check for availability.
