Naming Happiness
Suzy Welch with special guest Jack Welch on BUniverse

Author, commentator, and business journalist Suzy Welch discusses her decision-making philosophy on BUniverse. The philosophy is outlined in her newest book, 10-10-10: A Life-Transforming Idea. The 10-10-10 method examines the consequences of a decision after 10 minutes, 10 months, and 10 years and allows the decision-maker “to strategically and proactively make decisions based on values,” she says.
Welch tells the audience that if we base our decisions on our own set of values, then the 10-10-10 solution will reveal itself. She uses the method in her personal and professional life and finds it liberating, she says, because it helps open up the decision-making process and allows her to see all her options. With the 10-10-10 method, “you live by your heart, soul, and mind in a very deliberate and proactive way,” she notes.
Welch is accompanied by her husband, Jack Welch, the former chairman and CEO of General Electric, who poses questions and acts as moderator.
