Comedians take the stage to help victims of neuroblastoma
As medical researchers find more evidence that laughter is good for the heart, a group of Boston-bred comedians is trying make a particular evening of laughter good for victims of the most common form of cancer in infants. Tonight, the Cutler Majestic Theater presents Comics for a Cure, a lineup that includes event host Joe List, Nick DiPaolo, Gary Gulman, Kevin Knox and Kelly MacFarland.
Nick DiPaolo has appeared on The Tonight Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and HBO’s Young Comedians Special. He received two Emmy nominations for his writing on The Chris Rock Show and has had three Comedy Central specials of his own.
Gary Gulman was a finalist on the NBC reality-talent show Last Comic Standing (Season 2 & 3) and released his first CD, Conversations With Inanimate Objects, in 2005. He has performed on The Tonight Show, The Late Show, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Kevin Knox is a frequent guest on Comedy Central, MTV and Showtime. Kelly MacFarland has opened for Melissa Etheridge, LeAnn Rimes and for the international stage show Puppetry of the Penis.
Event proceeds will benefit the Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation, an organization dedicated to funding research and clinical trials as well as educating and supporting families affected by the disease.
