  1. I find it interesting and sad that no athletes with bulimia were willing to be identified, while an athlete with anorexia did have the courage to be identified in his interview. To all of you, I admire your willingness, honesty, and authenticity to contribute to this article.

    It is a sad but difficult aspect of our culture and eating disorders as a symptom of the culture – that it seems easier to admit to being over-controlled (anorexia) rather than out of control (bulimia).

    I hope in the future other brave students/athletes with bulimia will have the courage to identify themselves in order to combat the stigma that comes with having an eating disorder, particular bulimia.

    Thank you to all who share their struggle openly so as to help aleviate the suffering of others who share in that struggle.
