Dance Marathon
Students will hit the dance floor for up to 18 hours this Saturday to fight pediatric AIDS

Students taking to the dance floor for up to 18 hours this weekend are looking for more than bragging rights — they’re fighting pediatric AIDS.
Even if they’re not strapping on dancing shoes for the annual Dance Marathon, BU students can support the effort to raise money to fight childhood AIDS by showing up to encourage the dancers or by volunteering. The money will go to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation and Camp Heartland, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth, and their families facing HIV/AIDS, poverty, grief, and other significant life challenges.
Dance Marathon is the largest annual fundraiser at BU, with more than 150 people expected to participate this year. It began in 2003 as a collaborative effort of the Inter Fraternity-Sorority Council/Pan-Hellenic Council, the Boston University Student Union, Students for Camp Heartland, and BUnited.
The marathon is always exuberant, lively, and fun, with theme hours, prizes, giveaways, great music, live performances, and plenty of food. The event, being held in the Boston University Sargent Gym, 1 University Rd., starts at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, and ends at 9 a.m. on Sunday, March 30.
